The research is clear. From the C-suite to the front lines, emotional intelligence is one of the strongest predictors of performance in the workplace. According to Harvard Business Review, “Emotional intelligence is increasingly and urgently recognized as a competitive advantage for companies that want to cultivate a purpose-driven workforce for the future. And while many companies talk about the primacy of emotional intelligence, many fail to leverage it in any way.” Gallup tells us that employees who have managers with high emotional intelligence are 4x less likely to leave than those who have managers with low emotional intelligence. And yet, according to Korn Ferry, only 22% of leaders have strong emotional Intelligence.
